With a solid foundation in biomedical science and a passion for clinical practice, I graduated from China Medical College, Taiwan, with a Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology. My career began as a pathology scientist, specializing in clinical biomedical examination reports. Seeking to broaden my horizons, I pursued a Master of Science in Public Health at National Yang-Ming University, Taiwan, gaining insights into health promotion and disease prevention.
Upon immigrating to Melbourne, I transitioned into biomedical research, serving as a Research Assistant at both the Burnet Institute and RMIT for over a decade. My projects focused on HIV, aging, and cardiovascular health, contributing to our understanding of these complex health issues at the molecular biology level.
Driven by a desire to contribute to clinical practice and research, I returned to academia to study traditional Chinese medicine. Now a qualified Acupuncturist and Chinese Herbal Medicine Practitioner, I apply my knowledge to patient care while pursuing doctoral studies. My research aims to utilize Chinese herbal medicine to manage cardiovascular disease risk in people with HIV.
Combining Western and Chinese medicine, I provide holistic care tailored to individual patient needs. I hold a special interest in treating internal medicine conditions, such as cardiovascular health, digestive and sleep problems, and gynaecological conditions, integrating traditional Chinese medicine principles with modern biomedical knowledge to address their complexities. Through ongoing education and clinical practice, I am committed to improving the health and well-being of individuals, empowering them to lead healthier lives.
